A new generation of craftsmen headed by Mr. Hattori Kintaro, the founder of Seikosha (the original factory was established in 1881, the name means "House of Precision"), created a new style of watch. Before his time, Hattori's vision was to combine high-precision movements with timeless designs aimed at pure practicality.
For half a century, from the first pocket watch made in Japan in 1895 or the first watch in the 1910s to the first internal hairspring of Seiko in 1940, Seikosha has accumulated expertise in watchmaking.
"Rather than fail in a hurry, it is better to do something continuously, permanently, and tirelessly."
