Weaved throughout the story are interesting facts about transatlantic voyages, the Pilgrims and Wampanoag people with important lessons about courage, strength, and acceptance.

Mary Shields is the founder and president of Shields Design Studio in the historic Plymouth, Mass., waterfront.
